Blohm Jewelers was established by Walter N. Blohm. A veteran jeweler of 20 years, Walter left Muscoda, Wisconsin to head West. He settled in Elko, Nevada in 1941. In 1947 his son, Ted, took an active interest in the family business and eventually purchased the store from his father in 1963 and successfully ran the business until 2018. Lina Blohm, actively runs Blohm Jewelers for you and our community.

Shortly after joining his father, Ted realized that gemology was his passion. He graduated from the Bradley Tech school for watchmakers in Illinois and received his degree in gemology from the prestigious Gemological Institute of America in 1954. He has held the prestigious title of Certified Gemologist of the American Gem Society for the past 60 years. His wife, Lina, holds the title of Registered Jeweler of the AGS and is currently working toward her Graduate Gemology degree. Ted’s daughter, Deborah, is a Graduate Gemologist and jewelry designer in Los Angeles, CA. Ted and Lina also have daughters, Nicole, an attorney in Los Angeles and Kristina, a doctor in Scottsdale, AZ, and grandchildren, Cameron, Harrison, Sofia, Aspen and Andrew.

Lina Blohm’s grandchildren, Cameron, Harrison, Sofia, Aspen, and Andrew continue to be the light of her life. Cameron graduated Summa Cum Laude from USC in 2021. Harrison was accepted into the Engineering Program at California Polytechnic University and is busy working for Apple. Sofia’s intelligence, beautiful voice, enjoyment of Vocal/Piano lessons, and interest in preserving our environment. Aspen’s love of animals and her caring way of being. Andrew’s passion for sports and outdoor activities. Lina feels blessed.
